Marie, Ont. McKinnon, 61, will be jailed for four years for his actions on Feb.
Last Monday, McKinnon pleaded guilty to two Girls 61024 looking for an affair of his recognizance — communicating with the complainant and being within 25 metres of the woman. He was jailed 26 days for those offences.
Defence counsel Bruce Willson sought incarceration for 12 to 18 months. Crown attorney David Kirk wanted six years.
McKinnon was sentenced to four years for sexual assault. Time for other convictions, totaling three years including six months each for unlawful confinement and voyeurism, are to be served concurrently.
He was fined. Once outgoing and confident, the woman is now fearful and introverted. Her financial situation is poor. She sees a counsellor weekly at Sexual Assault Care Centre.
A restitution order sought by the Crown was denied.
